Research in the fast lane – Union Investment Foundation makes it possible!

We would like to thank the Union Investment Foundation for its generous support of our research:
Two state-of-the-art electroporators worth €13,000 were purchased for our laboratories at Dr. Petra Joh House. With this device, the cell membranes of bacterial cells and human cells can be briefly made porous by electrical impulses in order to introduce foreign DNA molecules.
This will enable us to significantly accelerate the pace of research progress and thus drive forward the development of new therapeutic procedures for current work in the field of childhood leukaemia, as well as for further studies at the research centre.
We are delighted that the Union Investment Foundation has recognised our work – and it was great to be able to welcome the team around Ms Wiens, Mr Schulte and Mr Kirchner to our premises for a personal donation presentation.
Every investment in modern research is a step towards the future – for sick children and their families.
